The Jeremiah Milbank Society

Jeremiah Milbank (1887 – 1972) was a man of remarkable accomplishments as a businessman, financer and philanthropist. In his lifetime, Milbank organized the International Committee for the Study of Infantile Paralysis, the International Center for the Disabled and helped President Herbert Hoover develop the Boys & Girls Club national organization. Milbank believed that wealth not used to help others was wealth wasted. One instrument of that belief is the JM Foundation, which has provided more than one hundred million dollars to foster self-sufficiency, personal responsibility and private initiative.

The Jeremiah Milbank Society, initiated in February 2004, is designed to engage leading donors by strengthening their understanding and support of Boys & Girls Clubs, and by recognizing their deep commitment to the children of their community. Individuals who donate $10,000 or more to a local Club for unrestricted support are recognized annually through membership in The Jeremiah Milbank Society.

Benefits Include:

  • listing in our Clubs’ publications
  • invitation to join other top donors to Boys & Girls Clubs at a prestigious annual celebration, hosted by one of our national organization’s distinguished alumni or benefactors
  • national recognition in The Jeremiah Milbank Society catalogue
  • the personal satisfaction of knowing that you are taking a lead role in improving lives in your community
