Vista
International Operations Upgrades Eastside Boys & Girls
Club Computers
San Antonio -- Oct. 31, 2007 On Saturday, Oct. 27,
the San Antonio office of Vista International Operations
donated approximately $15,000 in computer software,
computer equipment and technician time to the Boys &
Girls Clubs of San Antonio's Eastside branch at 3503
Martin Luther King Drive. The company provided nine
employee technicians to install new software and
equipment in the branch's technology center. The
technology center is where Club members develop and
master the computer skills necessary to succeed in
today's society. Councilwoman Sheila McNeil was on hand
to greet the Vista employees and thank them for their
support of her district's young people.
"We are very appreciative of this generous donation
of computer software, equipment and support from Vista
International Operations," said Jim Watson, executive
director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Antonio. "This
gift will allow our Eastside branch members to have
access to the cutting-edge technology that is so vital
to the education and development of our youth today."
The Boys & Girls Clubs of San Antonio serve more than
6,500 members annually at five branch and several
satellite locations. The Clubs provide after-school and
summer programs that develop assets, values and skills
in youth ages six-to-18 years old, paying particular
attention to those who need these programs most. As a
result of the Clubs programs, young people are inspired
and enabled to realize their full potential as
productive, responsible and caring citizens. For more
