Hosts 9th Annual Las Vegas Casino Night
San Antonio – October 16, 2005
On Sunday, November 13, 2005, from 5:30 to 10:30 PM,
The Boys and Girls Clubs of San Antonio will hold its
9th Annual Las Vegas Style Casino Night at The Club At
Sonterra. The evening is presented by Continental
Airlines and sponsored by Valero Energy Corporation and
Don Strange of Texas, Inc.
This year’s event features a Texas Hold’em tournament
with honorary pit boss Nelson Wolff, of the Boys & Girls
Clubs of America Hall of Fame. The night will include
dinner catered by Don Strange of Texas, live and silent
auctions, and gaming galore. Auction items include
sporting event tickets, golf outings, restaurant gift
certificates, sports collectibles, and round trip
tickets from Continental Airlines packaged with hotels
to terrific destinations. The auctioneer will be Joey
Tomlinson.
The evening will be emceed by Cynthia Lee of Fox
News. Music throughout the evening will be performed by
San Antonio’s Ken Slavin. Program highlights include
entertainment by rising young star Nathanael Sherrod,
from the Boys and Girls Clubs of San Antonio, Eastside
Branch.
Packages for ten guests and individual tickets for
the event may be purchased by calling 496-0686. Packages
may be purchased for $2000 and $1250 and individual
tickets are $125 per person. Tickets include drink
tickets, dinner and $2000 in gaming chips as part of the
ticket price.
Founded in 1939, the Boys and Girls Clubs of San
Antonio serve more than 6,000 members annually. Clubs
provide after school and summer program services that
develop assets, values and skills in youth ages 6-18
years old, paying particular attention to those most
disadvantaged. As a result of the Club programs, young
people are inspired and enabled to realize their full
potential as productive, responsible and caring
citizens.
