Boys & Girls Clubs of San Antonio Host 11th Annual
Casino Night
San Antonio -- Oct. 15, 2007 The Boys & Girls
Clubs of San Antonio will host the 11th Annual Las Vegas
Style Casino Night on Sunday, Nov. 11, from 5:00 to
10:30 p.m. at The Club At Sonterra. The event is
presented by Continental Airlines and sponsored by
Valero Energy Corporation and Security Service Federal
Credit Union.
This year's event features a Texas Hold 'Em
tournament with honorary pit boss Ricardo Romo,
president of the University of Texas at San Antonio. The
evening will be emceed by KABB News at Nine anchor
Michael Valdes. The night will include dinner catered by
Don Strange of Texas, live and silent auctions, and
gaming galore. Auction items include round trip airline
tickets to Europe, Hawaii and other vacation
destinations, sporting event tickets, golf outings,
restaurant and hotel gift certificates, and sports
collectibles.
"The Annual Casino Night is a major fundraiser for
the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Antonio and we are very
grateful for the many people in the community who come
out to support our programs through this event," said
Jim Watson, executive director of the Clubs.
Packages for 10 guests and individual tickets for the
event may be purchased by calling 210-436-0686. The
Royal Flush Sponsor Package is $2,000 for 10 tickets and
includes a gaming table named in the sponsor's honor.
The Full House Sponsor Package is $1,500 for 10 tickets
and individual tickets are $150. Proceeds from the event
will benefit the positive youth development programs
offered at the Clubs, ranging from the arts and
education to technology and sports.
Founded in 1939, the Boys & Girls Clubs of San
Antonio serves more than 6,500 members annually at five
branch locations and several satellite locations. The
Clubs provide after school and summer programs that
develop assets, values and skills in youth, ages
six-to-18 years old, paying particular attention to
those who need these programs most. As a result of the
Clubs programs, young people are inspired and enabled to
realize their full potential as productive, responsible
