"An
Art Auction" set to benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of
San Antonio
Web Head Group sponsoring event as a Birdies for
CharityŽ fundraiser
San Antonio, July 29, 2007 San Antonio art aficionados
will have the opportunity to bid for works by local
artists and support a worthwhile cause at the opening
event for "An Art Auction," on Friday, Aug. 3, from 8-11
p.m., at the historic Friedrich building, located at
1617 East Commerce. Proceeds from this unique live and
online charity event will benefit The Boys & Girls Clubs
of San Antonio.
The artwork includes an array of paintings,
photography, ceramics and other media, and will be
auctioned off beginning at 9 p.m. In addition to the
auction, the event will feature musical entertainment,
hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar. The evening, which is
being hosted by the technology firm, Web Head Group, is
free and open to the public.
Artists will receive 75 percent of the proceeds from
their art sales, while the remaining 25 percent will be
donated to the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Antonio. After
the event, all unsold artwork will be available online
for purchase at
anart.webheadgroup.com through the beginning of
October. Additional artworks will be solicited and
offered on the website throughout this period. Pledges
and donations to support the Boys and Girls Clubs of San
Antonio may be made online as well. A second live art
auction on October 5 will end the fundraising period
with a grand finale.
"We are very excited to be able to offer San
Antonians this unique opportunity to purchase beautiful
